Casio Edifice EQB 500D: Review

Casio launched a new collection of watches, the ” Casio Edifice “, a line that aims at an audience that does not want to give up the design of a classic steel chronograph and does not want to give up technology; we have tried and reviewed for you the Casio Edifice EQB-500D-1ACF (Casio EQB 500 series) and below you will find all its features, images and price.

Technical characteristics of the Casio EQB 500D

The Casio Edifice EQB-500D-1ACF, looks like a sports chronograph in brushed steel, with dimensions of 52mm x 48.1mm x 14.1mm, lost of about 7.20 ounces, scratch-resistant mineral glass, suitable for snorkeling or diving, as it is waterproof up to 100 meters at a pressure of 10 Bar, steel strap with safety lock and 20 mm thick.

The hands, digits and hour indicators are coated in neobrite, a fluorescent material that allows excellent reading of the clock even in the dark.

One of the important features of the Casio Edifice is the presence of solar cells that allow the watch to be used independently and ecologically, without the use of classic batteries. The solar energy that the cells receive is accumulated and saved in a special battery.

On the dial is present the Dual Dial Time function, this allows to visualize two different time zones and the average speed.

Let’s discover all the tech features offered by the Casio Edifice EQB 500

Thanks to Bluetooth 4.0, the Casio Edifice EQB-500D can be connected wirelessly to smartphones with Android and iOS technology with the use of the Casio+ app.

The application is very intuitive and simple and just synchronized to the Casio Edfice regulates the time allowing you to always have a precise time in any part of the world thanks to the world time function, showing the time of 29 different time zones and 300 cities in all over the world as well as providing the possibility to insert the calendar update automatically.

I personally found the Alarm Clock application very useful, because using an iPhone, I am forced to leave the smartphone turned on at night to use the morning alert.

The alarm can also be set daily for those who do not have a fixed alarm time.

Another very useful thing that I found is the Phone Search function because, by pressing a button on the clock, the smartphone will start to play and find it within the maximum Bluetooth coverage.

At the bottom right of the dial, we find the average calculated speed of a journey traveled. The function is activated by entering the distance at the start of the trip and pressing the stopwatch at the start and finish at the destination [Speed = Space / Time].

Furthermore, the Casio Edifice EQB-500D, gives you the possibility to enter the OFF-LINE mode to deactivate the GPS or the RADIO function during a flight and the notice of receipt of an email through the warning of an icon on the dial.
